About Us

Lambeth Community Health
is the new body set up by Lambeth Primary Care Trust as part of the changes it has made to draw a clear distinction between its responsibilities as a commissioner and as the provider of the borough’s community healthcare services.

Lambeth Community Health will focus solely on providing community health services across the borough in places such as GP surgeries, clinics, health centres, schools, children’s centres, patients’ homes and intermediate care centres.

These services are provided by clinicians such as community nurses, health visitors, school nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists and child health specialists.

Formally speaking, Lambeth Community Health is part of NHS Lambeth, but it operates as if it were independent.

In Deecember 2009 NHS Lambeth and NHS Southwark agreed into work together to find a partner for their respective community services as. In March 2010, NHS Lambeth and NHS Southwark jointly decided that Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is the preferred partner on behalf of King’s Health Partners for the formal integration of community services inacross the two boroughs. We aim to conclude this process by March 2011.
